It is easy to confuse a dual voice coil sub as a better subwoofer, but that’s not the case. You will get the same output from either sub when used in the right application. Both sets of terminals must be wired up when using a dual voice coil subwoofer. Your amp and the number of subs will determine which subwoofer you would want. For example, if you had a TA5601 amplifier and wanted to run a pair of 12s, you would want single voice coil 4Ω woofers.

the ohm load is the total resistance that your amp is seeing when wired up to the subs/speakers. In general, lower ohm loads will mean that your amp will be putting out more power. Varible coils have a soft initial spring rate and a much firmer spring rate to handle more weight, decrease sway, and improve handling.

Worn or sagging springs - Weak springs lower the chassis height of a vehicle, resulting in premature tire wear and poor handling characteristics. Sagging when loaded - Vehicles used for family transportation, works trucks, or sales fleets can benefit from upgrading to Broken original springs - Although uncommon in general, certain vehicles have been known to have a very high faliure rate of broken springs.

There is no standard life expectancy of springs. In general, coil springs on heavier full-sized vehicles tend to last longer than those on smaller light weight applications. To determine when coil springs need to be replaced have the springs inspected and the vehicle ride height checked by a trained professional.

The most common method of coil spring inspection is checking the vehicle ride height. Measure! Don't rely on eyesight alone! This method will only catch the extreme cases of spring sag or leaning. In addition to checking ride height, look for these signs, which also indicate the coil spring requires attention: Vehicle that commonly carry extra weight, resulting in unlevel condition most of the time (family transportation, work trucks, and sales fleets).

A good starting value is about 70%. Increase by 10% as you get comfortable until you reach 100%. If you are beginning forward flight, but still think 100% is too touchy, then use about 30% Expo with 100% dual rate.

Coil bind takes place whenever a spring is compressed and one or more of the spring's active coils contact another coil.
