Execute the following command to disable the Explorer shell extension that is responsible for thumbnail generation:

When the thumnail view is enabled in Windows Explorer, then it will generate thumbnails for your video files. It can happen that Explorer encounters a file that it doesn't like and this may result in a crash of Explorer. The solution would be to remove the file that causes the crash. But it may be difficult to indentify the 'bad' file. The most drastic solution is to disable the shell extension that is responsible for genersating the thumbnails.

Once you double-click on a zip file to access its contents, a folder window that appears listing the contents of the zip file. Even though it appears as though you have extracted the files, in fact they are still zipped and may not be truly accessible until you extract all of the files.

Add in your LocalSettings.php file the following lines: $wgEnableParserCache = false; $wgCachePages = false;

In Microsoft Windows ME, click Start -> Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, click on System. Next, choose the Performance tab. Check the Disable System Restore checkbox. Click OK and then Close. When prompted, restart the operating system. In Microsoft Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, click on System. In the Windows Live Photo Gallery, QuickTime videos are displayed if you have QuickTime installed. However, in the Windows Vista Photo Gallery there is no compatible codec available for Quicktime video files, so this is not yet possible.
