Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve is not a state park. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, managed by the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve Association, Inc. in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The Preserve is a member-supported organization, and relies on revenue from memberships, admission fees, plant sales and our Shop to continue providing high-quality programs and services, and to protect the Pennsylvania native plants with which we are entrusted.

Yes, as of May 2007. The Park had been privately owned and operated for over 100 years. As a new State Park, we are slowly making the transition into being state-owned. We are still privately operated so you will not yet find all the offerings found at other State Parks. We have things here that you cannot find at other State Parks, so it is a fair trade off.

Firewood for campfires may be taken from dead and down wood without a permit. Permits for home fuelwood are available at any of the district offices. One permit allows up to 10 cords, which is for family use only and cannot be sold. A standard cord is 4' x 4' x 8'. More about firewood permits...

Not if they are located on National Forest land. Dead trees provide habitat for a number of species of wildlife. The South Platte District opens fuel wood cutting areas during the summer months and permits are available at our district office in Morrison. Answer: Lot G is the closest Student/Visitor Parking Lot to University Courtyard. It is the only parking lot that allows overnight parking. We have the opportunity to bring a first-class hotel to Alabama, attracting larger convention groups back to Alabama's Gulf Coast that are currently going to Gulf destinations in other states. Yes, but we don't recommend it. It may sound like a good idea to take your pet to a national park but there is little you can do with them while you are here. Pets must always by on a leash or confined. They may not be left unattended in the campgrounds. They must remain on roads or in developed areas, so no hiking with them on trails or cross country. The good news is you can walk them (on leash, of course) on backcountry roads.

To ensure that you and your pet enjoy a safe visit, follow all pet regulations while inside the park. Wildlife may be drawn to pets and their owners; pets can wander away and may never be found - the park is a wild place! These regulations are enforced to protect you, park resources and other visitors. Pets are allowed inside Grand Teton National Park, but they must be restrained at all times and are not permitted on hiking trails, inside visitor centers or other facilities.

Surface water in the park may be unfit to drink, because the intestinal parasite Giardia lamblia is widespread in the mountains. We recommend carrying at least one litre of drinking water with you each day. Plain water is more thirst‑quenching than sugary drinks.
