In order for Sunday school to be fun for everyone, the kids need to be able to maintain a certain level of good behavior. If a child is disruptive, the teacher will politely direct them to adjust their actions. If a child continues to be disruptive or disobedient after the second warning, they will be escorted back to their parents. We are currently working on a positive school-wide behavior program with graduated and consistent expectations among levels. For most situations, redirect a toddler to a new setting or a safe toy to distract him or her from dangerous or inappropriate activity. Time out in a place without toys and stimulation is also usually effective; leave a child in time-out one (1) minute for each year of age. Never put a child in a closet or in restraints of any kind.
