Should the scalp be wet or dry when I apply the minoxidil solutions?

Q&A
As a general rule, medications are more readily absorbed when the skin is hydrated, but pharmacodynamic studies are performed with application to a dry skin. So the quoted statistics in regards to absorption apply to application on a dry skin. Our recommendation is to apply the minoxidil solutions to a dry scalp or to the scalp that is at least towel dried in order to avoid dilution.

Generally speaking nature has provided each with natural secretions of oil designed to lubricate the scalp and hair. However, textured, relaxed or color treated hair has a tendency toward dryness. Q&A
Yes, but the additional benefits will probably be minimal, especially with the Xandrox 5% solutions, because the azelaic acid promotes maximum absorption of minoxidil anyway. See similar questions...

What's the best way to apply minoxidil solutions?

Q&A
The method of application is not as important as an established routine. For optimum results, 1 mL of the prescription 5% minoxidil solution or 5% Xandrox solution should be applied twice a day. Using either the spray or the calibrated dropper, dispense a total of 1mL to the area(s) of the scalp of thinning hair. The fine mist sprayer dispenses 1 mL with four pumps of the sprayer. Invinca-Shield Invisible Protection Film Common Questions
Definitely wet with the proper mounting solution supplied and following the correct mixing ratio instructions. No, it can be applied any time you have the time. Rainy and cold weather periods require the use of more heat from a hair drier and can add a bit more time to the curing time after installation. The dry form is much more common. More than 85 percent of all people with intermediate and advanced AMD combined have the dry form. However, if only advanced AMD is considered, about two-thirds of patients have the wet form. Because almost all vision loss comes from advanced AMD, the wet form leads to significantly more vision loss than the dry form. See similar questions...

Is it OK to apply Minoxidil after shampooing?

Frequently asked hair loss questions - answered here
Yes, in fact you will have enhanced absorption after shampooing, as a well-hydrated scalp is more permeable and will better absorb topical agents. Just be sure to towel dry the hair first to remove standing water. The only precaution is to be attentive to signs of excessive absorption, such as a racing heart. See similar questions...

It is very difficult to apply my scalp treatment Have you any advice?

Psoriasis Help Organisation - Online Forum
With scalp treatment, the method of application is almost as important as which treatment you use. Applying the treatment involves parting the hair in sections and rubbing the treatment along the exposed area. It is best to do this in a sequential fashion, starting at the front of the scalp and working your way round. If the scale/plaques are very thick, once they have been moisturised with the treatment (especially Cocois) they can be gently lifted up using a comb. See similar questions...

Q - Can I apply the stone while the scratch coat is still wet or do I have to wait until it is dry?

Welcome to St. Croix Stone!
A - You may apply the stone immediately after the scratch coat is applied. The stone will stick to the wall better if the scratch coat is allowed to stiffen. The scratch coat may also be allowed to cure completely if desired. When applying to a cured scratch coat, re-moisten the surface prior to setting the stone. See similar questions...

How do I apply loose powder? With a wet or dry sponge?

Make-up Questions and Answers
Yikes! Your answer is neither! Always, always, always apply loose powder with a powder brush, one of those really big ones. The purpose of using a brush is that you will be able to brush off any excess powder. If you use a dry sponge, it's easy to have areas with more powder, especially around your hairline and nose. And a wet sponge would make an uneven mess out of your foundation. Brushes range in price from a few dollars to up to $30.00. See similar questions...
