Some computers cannot display video unless they are in 24- or 32-bit color mode. To see if you are in this mode right-click on your desktop and choose 'Properties' then click the 'Settings' tab. There should be a box near the lower-right which says 'Color Quality'. From the dropdown menu, make sure either 24-bit (high color) or 32-bit (true color) is selected. Go through the Windows Update process and it should suggest a new Windows Media Player or Windows Media Player Codec for you to install.

Make sure your speakers have been turned on if required. Check to see if your computer's sound setting is not set to "Mute", and that the volume bar is not set at minimum.

If you have a broadband connection of at least 512kbps but still have poor video quality, excessive buffering, or a total lack of video, this can be due to a lack of computer processing power or general traffic congestion on the internet. Try not to run other applications while accessing streaming media.

Make sure you are using the latest drivers for everything. Read section 6.6 of HQH's FAQ for details of the common problems. If that doesn't fix it, post a message here. Give as much info as possible about the problem and your setup. This happens on some video cards in D3D mode. Try the latest drivers for your card. If that doesn't work, use OpenGL or Software mode to get past underwater sections.

If you find that a video disappears or turns purple and green about 20 seconds before it stops playing, or that video for every file in the playlist isn't displayed, turn off overlays. If the problem continues, try turning off the video mixing renderer (VMR). You can turn off the VMR by clearing the Use video mixing renderer check box (available in the same location as the Use overlays check box). Make sure that the Work Offline command on the File menu is not selected.

If your eyes check out as being healthy you might have what is called myopia or near-sightedness. An eye exam can determine if your eyes are healthy and what prescription you may need in order to see better at night.

Please download the codec package from our website and install it to your computer, then reboot your computer . Please download "COMDLG32.OCX" and copy it into the folder "System32" under windows directory. Click here to download the file "COMDLG32.OCX" .
