For Wednesday night races we are almost always back by 9:30PM. On Saturday and Sunday races we should be back by 5:30 PM. The yacht club has a Wednesday night cookout and the club kitchen is open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

DOCK is administered in an approximately four hour testing period, this includes a tutorial followed by three 60-minute test blocks separated by two optional 10-minute breaks.

I dock the tails at 24-hours old by tying the tail.* I find that puppies heal much quicker, than a 3-day old puppy. I also have found that a 3-day old puppy tail is much larger than at birth, for obvious reason. The puppy experiences the least ammount of pain at this stage and dew claws are removed as well, at 24-hours old. Be sure to talk to your vet about the options when docking the tail. Parking is available at the Point Loma Sportfishing Landing at a cost of $5.00 per day. However, parking can be full and the lot attendant can direct you to alternate lots. When you arrive please check in at the Vagabond office upstairs at the middle landing, Point Loma Sportfishing. At this time you'll receive your stateroom assignment and your tag number. The tags with your number at applied to your fish and the number is also your rod rack assignment.

No, the Iditarod, like most dog sled races, starts every team at two-minute intervals. This allows teams to get out on the trail in an orderly and safe fashion and prevents teams from getting too congested on the trails.

Normal day trips usually depart at daybreak (around 6am in the summer). Afternoon trips (summer only) depart around 2:30pm. If your party has reserved the entire boat, all times can be adjusted to accomodate your particular schedule.

In the Iditarod, the first musher to cross the finish line (determined by the nose of the lead dog) wins the race, no matter what his or her starting position was. The reason that this works is because the race rules provide a mechanism to equalize the times in the middle of the race. This is called the Common Start Differential Rule. The easiest way to understand this rule is that you could think of every team having a head start on the last-to-start team.

Yes, the time limit for the Full Marathon is 5 Hours 30 minutes; Half-Marathon 3 hours & 10km is 2 hours. For Full Marathon, slow runners will be asked to abandon the race at specific locations if they do not reach the designed locations at specific times. Please understand that the time limits set are not intended to discourage runners from finishing the races.

Each marathon participant will wear a timing chip. For the 2007 marathon, we’ll be using Sport Systems’ disposable chip ‘n’ number timing. This lightweight Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) timing chip is attached to the back of your race number, so there’s no possibility of losing the chip during the race. The chip is detected by antenna at the start and finish line, so each marathon participant will get a start and finish time based on their chip time.

The Sprite Sprint starts at 12.00 noon, the Windsor Half marathon at 1.00 pm and the Fun Run at 1.15 pm
