The Instructional Computing Use Fee (CF) currently costs $34.00 and is good for the duration of the current quarter. If you are registered for multiple classes taught in IC facilities or Highline Online courses, you will pay no more than 2 CF fees per quarter.

Many of our databases and electronic journals may be accessed remotely. They are indicated by the green GO icon in Vera. Your computer must have MIT certificates to access resources remotely. See Obtaining MIT Certificates.

Most e-journals and databases can be accessed on campus on the basis of University of Manchester IP addresses which have been registered with suppliers and publishers. In most cases electronic resources can be accessed off-campus using a username and password. In some cases a username and password are required for access on campus as well as off campus. This may be an Athens username and password or another stipulated by the service provider / publisher.

this time, the authentication server is used only for providing off-campus access to online resources (databases, electronic journals, e-books) subscribed by the ACC libraries. Almost all online library resources are made accessible to off-campus users this way. There are a few online resources that have special restrictions imposed by the vendor limiting their use to a particular building or to a particular department. Off-campus users will not have access to these resources.

It is an all-in-one resource for learning more about campus computing services, and is a gateway to the many UC Davis Web sites that can help you find out about computing resources. Yes, in fact you will be encouraged to use the Richter Library, http://www.library.miami.edu/, in your research. You will be issued a temporary Cane Card for gaining admission to the library and to the Smathers Wellness Center, http://www.miami.edu/wellness/, while at UM. In addition, there is a Food Court open to everyone (service may be somewhat limited during our session because it is held during break) as well as the UM Bookstore, Post Office, and other facilities.

If you are a Hebrew College student, faculty or staff member, use the number on your Hebrew College ID to use the library's electronic resources or to access your account in the catalog. If you are a library member, please use the bar code on your membership card to access your library account; please call or email the library for a password to use the other online resources.

Public computer terminals are available throughout the building. Most provide access to information resources, including the online catalog, article databases, and the world wide web. In addition, there is a cluster of public computers at the east end of the first floor. These computers provide access to the web, email, and several other software packages including Microsoft Office. In addition, there is and Engineering Workstation Lab in the basement available to Engineering students.

The main resources for students are the computers and printers in Labs 315 Architecture Building and 100 Art Annex, and the machines and printers in the studios. All students today need to use computers and networks as part of their work, whether to write essays, to run applications, to access information on the Web, or to exchange e-mail with tutors and fellow students. At Essex every student is automatically given a computer account and file space, allowing access to central computing facilities and to departmental systems.

I start off with Ordnance Survey maps, using both Landranger and Explorer series to initially locate the sites. I then use the online CANMORE database at the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) to see what information has been recorded for the site. This also brings other stones to light that are not marked on the maps.

Computing Resources. Guilford College features a fully networked campus with connectivity to academic and administrative buildings and residence halls. All buildings are connected by fiber optic cable to an ATM backbone. Almost all residence hall rooms are provided with 10 Mb/s network, phone and cable TV connections for each resident.
