Cocker Spaniel Rescue (CSR) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to finding forever homes for abandoned, mistreated, unloved, unwanted or lost cocker spaniels. The rescues are given a complete health check and are assessed for temperament. The health check includes all shots, fecal, spay/neuter, and heartworm test. The adoption fee covers these items only.

To start the adoption approval process you need to complete the adoption application form. This form is posted on the website, can be obtained by calling the hotline at (281) 319-3131 or one can be picked up at an adoption. Once you have returned the application, CSR reviews the application to determine your eligibility and suggest which dog(s) match your lifestyle the best. OK, seriously, the American Cockers are smaller than English Cockers, and have a shorter snout. If you ever see a dog that looks like a big Cocker with a goofy long nose, you're probably looking at an English Cocker. Look at the differences in the snouts of the two Cockers pictured here, and I think you'll see it. The coat coloring of the two breeds tends to be different, too. OptiGen limits prcd-PRA testing to SHOW-BRED LINES of English Cocker Spaniel. Comments from European veterinarians indicate that PRA in European English Cockers that are dark red to ginger in color seem to have an earlier onset form of the disease. Make sure you are taking him to the same place outside every time. Find a nice patch of lawn, and make that his designated potty spot. In time, as he gets used to that one spot, and smells his old urine there, it will get a lot easier to have him go there. Clean up all accidents in the house extremely well, so he doesn't smell the urine there later. you get to know him better over time, you should start to notice some patterns.. Your dog has what sounds like excitement urination. Young dogs that are not completely developed neuromuscularly and that have excitable personalities often suffer from this. Generally, any exciting stimulus can trigger excitement urination. Typically, affected dogs outgrow this disorder. Your cocker spaniel is two years old, so it is unlikely that she will outgrow this problem. mentioned above, the Colonial Schipperke Club is very active in finding homes for "pre-owned" Schipperkes. These are Schips who for reasons normally not of their making, have lost their people. They may be lost or stolen dogs, dogs who suffer from the deaths or divorces of their owners, or dogs who are given up for a variety of reasons by their original owners. First of all, you will not be rescuing a Bearded Collie unless you are actually out visiting shelters or searching dog pounds. More likely you will be adopting from Bearded Collie Rescue or another organization that has rescued the dog in some manner (from kill shelters, abandoned, or even from people who advise they are taking the dog to a shelter and offering Rescue a chance to take it before they do). The best way to deal with the barking problem is to not let it get started in the first place. From the very first time you ever hear the dog bark as a puppy... if you firmly say "no" to the dog each and every time you hear him bark... you can usually nip it in the bud. Just be firm and NEVER let the puppy get away with barking without a firm reprimand. CSR has no facility where rescues are housed. The Cocker Inn is a generic term we use for our foster homes. So every foster home is part of the Cocker Inn. Because you are a good and caring person who wants to do something good for a dog. You are willing to open you home to a dog in need and spend time getting that dog adjusted to his new home. Quite honestly, Rescue first determines if you should have any sort of dog. Then determines if a Bearded Collie is the right dog for you. Have you read our section reasons you may not want to own one ? Just as with a breeder, Rescue wants the Beardie to have a good home. They don't want to find it at the shelter again.
