We have an extremely generous limit of 35 MB. This translates to about 25 MB of original attachments before the encoding process (MIME) adds its overhead. Please be aware that your ISP may have a much lower size limit (see below).

Generally, ou can upload large files up to 300MB each. Experience has shown that files larger than 300MB can be difficult to upload and download for some users. If you want to send files that are larger than 300MB, you will generally need to split them first. The server will not allow uploads of files that exceed this limit, unless you are a Pro member, where the limit is 1.5 GB.

Playing audio and video files over the Internet is a lot more complicated then playing files locally on your PC. Because of bandwidth restrictions, specifically for dial-up users, large files can take a long time, up to hours, to load and play over the Internet. We cap file sizes so that it doesn't take users 4 hours to load your clip.
