A self-flashing skylight is a skylight mainly used during new construction or remodeling. Generally, if you are adding a new skylight to your home, not replacing one, you should consider a self-flashing skylight. These skylights come to you with a built in roof curb, unlike the curb mounted skylights referred to above. With a self-flashing skylight, you simply determine the size roof opening you would like, and let us do the rest.

This is a tough question to answer. Although you can definitely install a skylight into most any roof, many skylights leak when installed incorrectly. If you are re-roofing your home, the tubular skylight should be installed when the new roof is finished. They are designed as a retrofit into existing roofs. If you are building a new home, the roof must be on and the interior ceilings must be plastered. Do not install during construction.
