MATFOR is node-locked to a machine's Host ID. Hence, the Host ID has to be provided during the registration. Go to 'Start menu\Programs\MATFOR4\Utilities\Register MATFOR 4 in Fortran (or C++)', and the Host ID of your local machine will be shown in the registration program. (See below)

Intel processor machines don't have an IDPROM, so Sun generates a serial number, hostid command or sysinfo()'s SI_HW_SERIAL, pseudo-randomly during installation.
