Our events do not require a security clearance unless the event is a Security Clearance Only event. For Security Clearance Only events, it is a requirement that candidates hold a current security clearance or have recently held a security clearance.

Most positions in DMO require a minimum security clearance at the SECRET level. Some positions require higher levels of clearance.

That depends on the position. Some positions do not require a current security clearance, while others do. Others require that the applicant be eligible to receive a clearance. For those positions where a security clearance is required but not an immediate condition of employment, we state the following at the end of the job description "Applicants selected must hold or be eligible to obtain a US government security clearance".

You cannot independently apply for an investigation or security clearance. Clearances are based on investigations requested by Federal agencies, appropriate to specific positions and their duties. Until you are offered such a position, the government will not request or pay for an investigation for a clearance.

Clearance for all staff in the building will be determined by MU, consistent with institutional and government-mandated regulations and standards. For example, all employees working with select agents are required to complete a federal background check and be compliant with all aspects of the Patriot Act.

Applicants who are successful in the Oral Assessment will be asked to submit forms for the Top Secret security clearance required for appointment to the Foreign Service. Security clearance evaluations/determinations must assure that access to classified information for a specific individual is "clearly consistent with the interests of national security." Under the adjudicative guidelines, "any doubt as to whether access to classified information is clearly consistent with national security will be resolved in favor of the national security." When making such a determination, DS must consider all available information, both positive and negative.

Each county school district has established policies for validity periods of security clearance. Check the individual policies for each county.

Each county school district has specific procedures where to apply. Students MUST refer to the directions as outlined by each individual school district and follow as instructed. DO NOT simply assume one can report to the local police authority. Check individual policies for each county.

Each school district has its own procedures for notifying students with possible security clearance difficulties. The school district or a representative from the Field Placement office from FAU will either contact students who experience security clearance difficulties. Students without clearance difficulties will simply continue through the Field Placement process.

Admittance into the University and/or the College of Education does not guarantee the completion of the degree for this program. Should a student experience difficulties with security clearance and possible denial of placement in the school system, the student will meet with the Department Chair, Director of the Office for Academic and Student Services, and the Field Placement Director to discuss his/her circumstance and future in the academic program.

If you are unsuccessful in getting a security clearance at the required level, your offer to participate may be withdrawn. DMO is a family-friendly organisation and taking leave for your honeymoon is a possibility. Your access to leave is dependent upon the needs of your workplace rotation and the provisions of the Defence Employees' Certified Agreement. If you successfully gain a place on the MGS, you should discuss this with your rotation supervisor as soon as possible.

Answer: The principal applicant and all accompanying dependents over the age of 18 must submit a security clearance for any country within which they have resided within 10 years, while over the age of 18, prior to the submission of an application.
