How do you convert English words to Japanese or Japanese words to English?

Learn Japanese - Free Japanese Lessons!
You can't. Japanese is a completely different language with no similarities to English. The grammar, alphabet, vocabulary, etc. is all different. Many people think an online translator, like BabelFish, will do the trick. Truth is, machine translations such as that make absolutely no sense. The only way to "convert" English to Japanese, or visa versa, is to be fluent in both languages and translate between the two (not an easy task) or find someone to do it for you.

How come they keep saying English words in the Japanese songs?

Akemi's Anime World: Frequently Asked Questions About Anime
As mentioned above, English in Japan is cool, particularly with the youngsters. As a result, it has become very common to see few words or phrases of English in a Japanese song, particularly in the refrain. I would go so far as to say that almost all pop songs have at least a few words of English in them (helped, of course, by the large number of English words borrowed into the Japanese language). Can you post all Japanese words?

The Great Japanese Dictionary has 2380 pages each containing around 75 words. That's around 180,000 words and is probably not all of them. Even listing the thousands of commonly used words would take a long time. Do you know of a good Japanese phone directory? I have a Japanese friend I would like to get a hold of. Is Japanese easier than English?

Learn Japanese - Free Japanese Lessons!
Japanese is a much more structured and simplistic language than English, in our opinion. For example, Japanese verbs all fall into 3 categories. Godan (lesson 6), Ichidan (lesson 7), and the 2 irregular verbs (also lesson 7). All Godan verbs follow the rules given in lesson 6 with only one exception. All Ichidan verbs follow the rules provided. Irregular verbs have there own rules but there are only 2 of them! English has exceptions for almost every verb and very few rules that can be followed. What's up with the random Japanese words in the comic?

Kurenai Mashin : FAQ
I blame it on an overdose of anime/Megatokyo/online Japanese dictionaries. When I first started the comic, I believed, naively, that a sprinkling of Japanese vocabulary would work in a comic that took place outside Japan (heck, the story doesn't even take place on Earth!). When I grew out of that phase, the use of random Japanese became a rather frivolous homage to the elements that most inspired the creation of Kurenai Mashin. See similar questions...

Q21. Are there any Basque words in English?

FAQs About Basque and the Basques by Larry Trask
A21. Not many, but there are one or two. One is silhouette, which has a very interesting history. The English word is taken from French, in which it derives from the surname of a certain Etienne de Silhouette, a French politician of the 18th century. This is a French spelling of the Basque surname Zilhueta, a French Basque variant of the surname Zulueta or Zuloeta; this in turn derives from zulo 'hole' (zilo in part of the north) plus the very frequent suffix -eta 'abundance of'. Miscellaneous 4.1. Do my source or target words have to be correctly spelled English words?

Sarangworld Word Morphing FAQ
No. Although all the intermediate words the program finds will be correctly spelled English words, your starting and ending words can be any collection of characters. A particularly satisfying example (for me) is that I can start with the word "Sarang" (my first name), and morph it into quite a few different things (partly because "Sarang" morphs into "sprang" and then sprang morphs into quite a few other things).
