On Mac OS X, F1 through F4 are reserved for Undo, Cut, Copy, and Paste, respectively. Unfortunately we can't change those settings. So if you assign one of those keys to a snippet or a shortcut, what happens when you press the key is, first, Mac OS triggers the underlying edit action, and second, InqScribe senses the keypress and triggers the snippet or shortcut. Generally, this is not what you want, so we recommend avoiding F1 through F4 on Mac OS X.

The standard license plate frame has the screw holes on the top of the frame. This allows a maximum of 25 letters on top, and 35 letters on the bottom. We can turn the frame upside down (Inverted) for those who require the screw holes to be on the bottom of the frame. Inverted frames allow a maximum of 35 letters on the top, and 25 letters on the bottom.

The only difference between the F3 and F5 is the height of the can. The F3 is 3.10mm and the F5 is 5.89mm. If humans are going to be interfacing with the iButton (picking it up), the F5 can is easier to handle. The DS1963S can also be used as a co-processor. This will keep the secret secure in the DS1963S in the control unit.. Any attempt to open the DS1963S, will cause the memory to clear. There is a part similar to the DS1963S but it uses an I2C bus interface. The part number is DS2460.

Dallas/Maxim does not make a fob for the F3 can, but there is a list of companies that do make fobs. Some of them will work with the F3 fob and some of the fobs can be customized with company information

A strip has lines that run off of the edge of the text plate. A frame has a box around the name, like a picture frame.

Most people in the USA have the F4s, since that was the only version sold in the USA off the shelf. The other two battery packs are available, however, and some people find the MB 20 pack useful because it makes the body lighter and easier to handle in some situations. Other people find that the larger grip of the MB-23 fits their hands more comfortably. The trade-off is in film advance speed; the F4 will advance film at the rate of 4 frames a second, while the F4s and the F4e will hit 5.

In the spring of 1997, Nikon Japan announced that they would stop taking orders for the F4 by the end of May 1997. From: James Grove p> At a recent show in the UK. Nikon UK confirmed that the Nikon F4 series cameras are no longer being made. Nikon are now selling out the stock. (15 left in the UK). The Japanese market will have them for a while yet but the US and UK Euro markets will not. (Well thats what the rep told me anyway.)

In contrast to the F, F2, and F3 cameras which have been assembled totally at Mito plant in Tokyo, the F4 is so complex that several modules are assembled at special plants. The shutter unit is developed at Ohi plant (also Tokyo, original assembling streets), the finder comes from the Tochigi plant north of Tokyo which is specialized on optics. At this plant, most of the Nikkors are assembled too. From Sendai plant (northern Japan) come the electronic modules.

The F4 is well sealed, but not designed for underwater use. However, aftermarket manufacturers make underwater housings for the F4.

Internal frame packs have soft frames built into the pack. The bag hugs the body tightly and comfortably and is very well-balanced, which is invaluable when hiking or climbing on difficult terrain. The absence of an external frame also lessens the likelihood of snagging the pack on branches as you walk. External frame packs usually have more pockets and compartments than internal frame packs.

European Television Standard European television conforms to the PAL (Phase Alternation by Line) standard, which runs at 25 frames (50 fields, or half-frames) per second. This is close enough to the film standard of 24 fps, that 24 fps films are often simply run at 25 fps, with possibly a bit of pitch-shifting on the soundtrack to make it sound less 'screechy.

The frame number is simply a counter that indicates how many X3F files are present on a CF card. If a card only has one image on it, the frame number of that image will be 1. The frame number is never associated with a specific image. The file number is a numerical identifier that is associated with a specific image and becomes part of that images filename. The file number assigned to an image may be different from its frame number.

Fundamentally, the difference is in the construction methods. Frameless cabinets are of European origin and resemble a simple open box, with sides, bottom, back, and a top. The box material is typically a plywood, MDF, or particleboard with the front edges banded with a material to hide the raw edge. This material can be wood veneer, melamine, or solid wood.

The stoves have been tested at specific BTU/kW-ratings. One kW can heat up to 100-200 f3 (10-20 m2) in a house with normal insulation. All stoves operate perfectly at levels above/below the tested output. The BTU/kW-intervals are stove-specific and appear under Products.

a time when many people are "stepping up" to the F5, or snapping up an F100, many others are holding onto their F4 bodies or taking advantage of the decline in F4 prices to get into Nikon F line through a purchase of a new or used F4. The F4 is an especially good alternative to an 8008, N90/s, 6006, or N70 Nikon body. There is simply no substitute for the quality and features of a pro level Nikon body. Anyone accustomed to using Nikon's amateur bodies will experience the difference immediately.

B&H sold the last of its new F4 bodies back in the summer of 2000. With the end of new F4 bodies available from B&H, we have come to the end of an era. A recent correspondent (January 2000) reports from Japan that Sanpou camera in the Meguro ward (section) of Tokyo has new and used F4 bodies at good prices. Although the F4 is no longer in production, remaining new F4 bodies sell today for almost as much as new F5 bodies. Clean used F4 bodies also bring high prices.

The F4 is available in three models, the F4, the F4s and the F4e. The F4 is the basic body with the MB 20 battery pack, holding 4 AA batteries in the right grip. The F4s is the basic body with the MB 21 battery pack, holding 6 AA batteries, three in the right hand grip and 3 in the grip extension on the bottom of the camera body. The F4e is the basic F4 with the addition of the MB 23 grip extension.
