There are five attending physicians who specialize in reproductive medicine and infertility. Residents on the REI work closely with the attending physicians. The residents are expected to cover all REI procedures (Monday through Thursday) during their rotation. This includes abdominal procedures, as well as hysteroscopy and hysterosalpingograms. The department opened its IVF center, with office and OR space devoted exclusively to IVF, in 1984. We perform more than 200 retrievals per year.

The fee for providing a print reproduction or a digital scan, and the service fee, are two different things. They can be paid for separately if needed. The service fee ranges from zero for private use to higher fees for use of the photographs in educational publications, media or Web productions, or any other widely viewed public venue.

It is widely accepted that the first reproduction jars were some wax sealers made in Mexico. They were made in the colors of black-amber, emerald green and olive green. Since then other jars have appeared, some which have risen to become collectors items in their own rite and others, like the recent reproductions from China, will probably never be worth a lot to collectors. Sometimes mold seams can give a reproduction away.

A trained volunteer is available seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. United Way 2-1-1 is provided by the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center and funded by Capital Area United Way.

Approximately 40% is of male origin, 40% of female origin and in 20 % there is no obvious identifiable cause. Many couples have combined male and female causes.

Some chemotherapy medicines, like those in the alkylating agents group, can cause infertility. These types of chemotherapy medicines can be used to treat many different kinds of cancer, not just cancers that affect the reproductive organs. Chemotherapy can cause infertility by either reducing the number of eggs in your ovaries or by causing early menopause. Menopause is when menstrual periods stop, because the ovaries run out of eggs.

Some survivors don’t realize that they are infertile until they try to have children and aren’t able to get pregnant. There are some symptoms of infertility you can look for. However, if you experience any of these symptoms, it does not always mean you are infertile. They could be symptoms of other medical conditions. Female cancer survivors who completed puberty before they started treatment usually stop menstruating during treatment. This does not mean you are infertile.
