What about bears and bugs?

Frequently Asked Questions - Alaska's Denali Backcountry Lod...
We have both in fair supply, and we co-exist using our knowledge of their habits. Preparation and attitude is everything when encountering either species. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be given a bear safety talk where you'll learn about being a visitor in bear country. Regarding bugs, we provide mosquito headnets, and recommend that you wear tightly woven, light clothing for maximum comfort.

What About Those Bugs, Flies Etc?

I think for good reason, based on ethical intuition, that we are more impressed by the kind-hearted soul who nets the flies to let them out of the house alive versus the person hunting them down for certain chemical death with a bottle raid. What about bears?

Thru-Hike By Erik Eichinger - FAQs

What about the bugs?

Alaska salmon and halibut fishing FAQ list for Tower Rock Lo...

However, we advise the use of insect repellant on the fly-out trips. No worries, we have plenty of insect repellant available at the lodge.
