Shotokai uses no type of protective equipment, other than absorbing material if actual striking is to be practiced on a person. Why don't beginners and intermediate students get to free spar? In Shotokai you will not free spar until you have had at least a years training (intensive). The reason behind this is the fact that techniques are very dangerous in the hands of uncontrolled beginners.

After hip replacement surgery, you will need a high toilet seat for about three months. We can arrange to have one delivered to you, or you may rent or borrow one. You will also be taught to use assistive devices to help you with lower body dressing and bathing. You may also benefit from a bath seat or grab bars in the bathroom, which can be discussed with your occupational therapist. Other equipment needs (with instructions for use) can be arranged by the Total Joint Care Coordinator.

You need a wireless network radio, mount, and CAT5 cable. Our standard Mounting Equipment package included a 3 Ft. Tri-pod, a 10 Ft. Mast and up to 100 Ft. of cable for $35. Because of location and elevation, some installations will require alternative mounting equipment. For that reason we have alternative mast packages.

You will need a wireless modem and an indoor, attic, or outdoor antenna, depending on your location. This equipment will be provided at the time of installation. You may also wish to acquire a hardware firewall at your location and to create either a data wired or wireless in-home or in-office network. Alternatively, if you only wish to run one computer near where the wireless modem is located, that you can plug the modem directly into the Ether Net connector on your computer.

You'll need to have an available slot for an Ethernet card (NIC) on your desktop computer (if you're only using the one computer on your zNET Wireless connection), or an available port on your Ethernet hub (or switch or router) on your LAN if you're putting your network on the zNET Wireless connection. Generally if your computer supports an Ethernet card, it will also support the wireless internet access.

It depends on the course. Some courses are offered completely online. Others may have online activities. Each course description tells you what equipment you need, if any.

Each camper should have a sleeping bag. He may also want to have an inexpensive backpack to pack his gear for overnight camping. The camp has some backpacks that campers can use. However, it is best if campers have their own equipment. A relatively inexpensive backpack can be purchased at stores such as Wal-Mart or K-Mart. The boys will have an overnight camp out at least once a week.
