How should I light my cigar with a Blue Flame lighter?

Answers to our FAQs
After cutting your cigar - if applicable - first heat up the end of the cigar by placing the cigar in a horizontal position in one hand and putting your lighter in a horizontal position in your other hand. Never light a cigar while holding it in your mouth. Rotate the cigar against the flame until it is glowing. It is not necessary to put your cigar into the flame. The flame heat at 3 or 4 cm from the nozzle is enough to light it. See similar questions...

What are the advantages of using a Blue Flame lighter to light my cigar?

Answers to our FAQs
Lighting your cigar is an important factor in ensuring that your cigar will taste as it was meant to taste! Blue Flame cigar lighters produce a hot, oderless or neutral flame which protects the delicate tabacco flavours. The high temperature and the possibility to horizontally position the lighter enables you to light your cigar in a way that it will burn evenly. [Back to FAQs] See similar questions...

Can I use any torch?

Beadfx - Art Clay Silver - Frequently Asked Questions
Any torch that will bring the piece to the right temperature and hold it there is fine. I would tend to avoid using acetylene as it is sooty and could create a problem. Using a torch that is designed to be used in a horizonal position for 2 minutes is a good idea. Propane or MAPP torches with a swirl tip are an excellent choice, and are available from your hardware store. See similar questions...

How do I use the torch to fire the Art Clay Silver?

Beadfx - Art Clay Silver - Frequently Asked Questions
This is easier to demonstrate than to explain, but I'll try. There are size limitations for hand firing. Don't try to hand fire a piece made with more than one pack of clay. You can use any torch that will get the clay to the right temperature, butane mini-torches and propane torches are both popular. A torch that is designed to operate when held horizontally is a good choice, and a trigger start makes it much easier to use. These can be obtained inexpensively from hardware stores. How do I add fuel to my Zippo lighter?

On recent models there will be a pinched hole in the felt. If so, simply insert the fluid can into the hole and squirt the fluid right into the packing material in the fuel chamber. Three or four generous squirts will be enough usually. If you don't have the refill hole, lift the corner of the felt pad on the bottom of the insert to reveal the packing material in the fuel chamber. Saturate the packing with Zippo lighter fluid. Fill slowly, taking care to never overfill. See similar questions...

When I light my cooker I don't get a blue flame. All I get is a yellow flame. What's wrong?

King Kooker: FAQ's
Adjust the air shutter to the most open position to allow more oxygen flow. If this does not produce a blue flame, there could be an obstruction in the venturi tube. Remove the hose, spring and air shutter from the venturi tube. Look into the venturi tube to see if there is a blockage. Sometimes insects build nests or webs inside during storage. Use a wire coat hanger or something similar to remove the blockage. Reconnect the cooker, perform the leak test and light the cooker again. See similar questions...

WHY DON'T YOU MAKE MODELS OF FAMOUS CARS LIKE THE BLUE FLAME OR THE BLUBIRD?

Ugo Fadini LSR Models - FAQ
Most, if not all, the vehicles that made the history of the "absolute" Land Speed Record have been modelled by now and most are currently available from other specialized manufacturers, who are also friends and we all try hard to avoid duplication. Aerogel has a blue cast for the same reason that the sky is blue. The very small particles that compose the aerogel scatter blue light, the same as our atmosphere scatters blue light.
