Recycling in our building is very straightforward. Card board and paper-related items go in the grey bin. Glass, plastic, and wire hangers should be placed in the blue bin.

Schedules for trash pickup and curbside recycling pickup depend on where you live. See the trash pick-up schedule for more detailed information. Your recycling will be picked up at the curb on the same day that your trash is picked up. All recycling bins are to be placed on the curb, not in the alleys. A free bin may be obtained at the department of Public Works, located at 1100 E. 4th Street, or at City Hall downtown.

Trash, mixed paper and commingle pick up is provided by the Borough's contractor South Jersey Sanitation. The Lebanon Street Department handles all questions concerning recycling and trash removal in the city. They are located at 1301 Lafayette Avenue and can be reached by calling 765-482-8870.

During the beginning of each New Year, the Town sends out a recycling/trash information card as an insert in the Totoket Times. The insert includes information about what types of recycling/trash are acceptable and the dates of upcoming collection events. Information can also be found on the Town’s website at the Trash, Recycling & Hazardous Waste section.

Occasionally residents’ trash/recycling is overlooked. If this situation occurs for you, simply call the Department of Public works as soon as you notice at 781-438-0760, and we will contact the supervisor. Please be advised, any rubbish or recycling that was put out after 7:00 a.m. will not be picked up until the following scheduled pickup. There is no town facility in Stoneham to drop off trash. Any large item, example, mattress and box spring, a couch, chair, etc.

Residents must provide their own trash cans. East Brandywine Township provides a blue paper recycling container and a green co-mingle recycling container. They can be picked up free of charge at the East Brandywine Township Municipal Building

There is virtually no trash. We repeat – there is virtually no trash. Our machine grinds whole beans from the internal hopper. Unlike other coffee machines, there is no packaging for the coffee or any of the ancillaries to throw away – no paper filters, no aluminum cups, no pods, no pouches. Nothing. As we like to emphasize – great coffee without the great fuss. Exhausted coffee grounds are dropped into an internal bin for collection and composting.

In some other cities in the U.S., residents pay a separate bill for trash collection, but receive recycling services free of charge as a way to boost recycling participation. This kind of system is referred to as "quantity-based user fees" (QBUFs); usually implemented in localities where residents pay for refuse collection based upon the amount of trash they generate. User fees are difficult to institute in cities, like New York, where refuse and recycling is funded through general tax revenues.

Residents desiring another recycling can should contact Briggeman Disposal directly at (800) 299-4898. There is no fee for an additional recycling can. Your recycling can will be delivered to you on your regularly scheduled trash pick up day.

The County does not provide curbside trash/recycling services; however, refer to the Yellow Pages, locate "Rubbish," and you will find a list of commercial haulers that provide these services.

The City of Columbia Heights contracts with BFI/Allied Waste for garbage collection service and only the major holidays alter the schedule. Those are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. When these holidays fall on a weekday, collections are one day late following the holiday.

All items must be set out by 7:00am on your collection day, or as early as 4:00pm the day before. Routes can change at any time and so can your pickup time. If there is a rejection sticker, take note of why it was rejected and make sure that it is properly prepared for next week's pick up. If your trash/recycling/yard waste was missed and was properly prepared, contact Customer Service at 617-796-1000 to give the address of the missed pick up.

The UNH recycling program is continually growing and expanding. UNH has both indoor and outdoor recycling bins and signs in every building and all over campus, and more are added as feasible. UNH Facilities, who manage UNH's recycling program, supplies recycling bins and recycling signs in every building on campus, and they have given information to all RA's on campus to help them educate others about recycling.

Your recycled items can be made into a huge variety of new products (see the Recycle Now Website for a selection of products made from recycled materials). Plastic bottles can be made into fleece jackets, glass can be recycled again and again into new bottles and jars without losing it's quality, aluminium cans can also be recycled many times and made into new cans (or cars!). Paper and card are pulped and recycled into new products such as toilet roll, cereal boxes, newspapers etc.

Piney Creek has a master contract with Waste Management (303-797-1600) for trash removal. The cost of trash removal is included in your monthly maintenance fee paid to the Piney Creek Maintenance Association. Trash pickup day is every Monday with recycling days being every other Monday. You must call Waste Management (303-797-1600) to arrange for recycling bins. There is a fee that you must pay for the recycling bins.
