Max Fighter always starts in the same mode that was active when you left the game last time. Switching to fullscreen mode and not switching back should make it start that way again next time.

Worms Forts is set to full screen rendering mode to ensure the game runs optimally on minimum specification systems. It is however possible to run in windowed mode if you so wish. In order to change the game from full screen to windowed mode the shortcut must be manually modified. Note that this option may be combined with manual resolution settings in point 5.7 also.

In Mac OS X, all windows are double-buffered. The application (in this case, SDL's blitting engine) draws into the back buffer. The front buffer is that actual display video memory. When the application is finished drawing, it tells the window server to display the back buffer on the screen.

Press Alt+Enter to toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode. If you want the emulator to open up in fullscreen mode, use the -f commandline switch (check this section of the FAQ if you're not sure how to do that).

The context menu and most of the keyboard shortcuts do not work in Direct3D mode. The only way to exit Direct3D fullscreen is to press Ctrl+C. This will also stop playback. Media Player Classic does not properly support these file types. Use Windows Media Player for these files.

Use the function w32-send-sys-command. For example, you can put the following in your .emacs file: (add-hook 'term-setup-hook #'(lambda () (w32-send-sys-command ?\xF030))) To avoid the slightly distracting visual effect of Emacs starting with its default frame size and then growing to fullscreen, you can add an 'Emacs.Geometry' entry to the Windows registry settings (see see (emacs)X Resources).

marc: In windowed mode, you can even move all sub-windows (such as the chat window) out of the main window, i.e., you can arrange all panels on your screen without being constrained by the game main window.

As we all know the Horizons client is a CPU eater. If you need to use HCC whilst gaming, use the 'Above Normal Priority' option (see above). If this is insufficient to solve the problem, it is recommended that you lower the Horizons.exe task priority via Task Manager. (Right-click on your taskbar -> Task Manager -> Processes. Locate Horizons.exe and right-click on it, then select Set Priority: Below Normal.

This is a known problem. Some JVM react badly to been switch from/to fullscreen mode. We have had problems with both Sun's and Apple's Java 1.4.2. However, Java 5.0 seems to be perfectly stable. My suggestions are: Pick a graphic mode and stick with it. If you want your game to work in 800x600 fullscreen mode, switch to that mode and don't switch back until program termination.

Fullscreen mode doesn't work under Linux. Sun plans to add it to it's next release of 5.x, but no promise have been made. If you have problems under Windows, it's possible you don't have sufficient access rights to change the display mode.

On the Video Tab, under Display Mode, select either Windowed (at the top of the drop-down menu), or select your desired video resolution.

At the current moment (release 3.0), PAP will open up in screen-mode to run in the actual resolution you are animating in (800x600, 1024x768 or 1600x1200). However, the next release (the free upgrade 3.1), will feature a windowed mode, so you have PAP inside a window alongside your other programs. Different digitizer tablets have different aspects. Some are square - some have the aspect of the screen. Use the BoardArea function in PAP to correct this problem.

Answer: Yes, the F10 key toggles between full-screen and windowed mode. The next time you load the Repton 1 game the previous setting will be retained. You can also make Repton 1 start in windowed mode the first time it is run by holding down the W key when the Superior Interactive loading screen is showing.

This is the typical ?square? image favoured (until very recently) by television presentations. This aspect ratio is expressed as FS 4:3 or (1.33:1 in decimal terms) denoting that the frame is 1.33 times as wide as it is tall. Fullscreen presentations will fill the entire screen area of standard ?square? fullscreen televisions. When viewed on a widescreen set, black bars will be visible on each side (right and left) of the screen.
