Your child's diet, as ordered by his or her physician, is an important part of therapy while in the hospital. A registered dietitian, or the dietitian's assistant, can talk with you about your child's preferences and special diet needs. Nourishment Centers are available on each In-patient unit to help parents provide snacks for their children. The Dietetics and Nutrition Department stocks a refrigerator with snack food, drinks, and condiments for the patients.

The Library restricts drinking and eating to Guyer Lounge. Here you will also find vending machines and a television.

The safest way to thaw meat, poultry, and fish is in the refrigerator. Be sure to place the frozen product in a pan or on a plate to prevent juices from leaking onto shelves. Place the thawing product on the lower most shelf in the refrigerator so that juices do not cross-contaminate clean vegetables and other ready-to-eat foods. Another acceptable thawing method is under cold running water for not more than 2 hours.

The refrigerator and MicroFridge units are rented on a first come, first serve basis. At the beginning of the academic year, students may rent a refrigerator at residence hall locations. The first few days of the academic year, there are signs posted in each residence hall as to where and when the refrigerator units will be rented. After this time has passed, the student will be required to contact the Housing Cashier Office in order to rent a unit.

Lancaster offers a variety of restaurants, from international cuisine to casual family fare. A list of area restaurants is available at the registration office or visit the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Zagats.com and citysearch.com can assist you in your selection. We also recommend Angus McIndoe; John's Pizza 212-391-7560, 260 W. 44th St, NYC; and Virgil's BBQ as great dining experiences. There are also many great restaurants on Restaurant Row located on 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.

The National Museum does not have group dining facilities at this time. Groups are welcome to sit on the Plaza outside of the Museum to enjoy their lunches or go to any number of restaurants in the Little Tokyo area, including the Museum's new Garden Cafe. A list of restaurants can be provided upon request.

That's a tough one! There are all kinds of different foods to choose from. Most places either post menus in their windows or will let you stop in and glance over them to see if they have what you're looking for.
