There is eleven-and-a-half inches of clearance under all beds, except that Perkins beds have twenty inches of clearance. Some of the beds frames are metal with round feet. Some of the bed frames are wooden with big square feet. If you are thinking about putting risers under the feet, check that they could accommodate the large legs - or wait until you get here and know what your bed looks like.

The College provides a bed with an extra long mattress, mini-blinds, a chest of drawers, a desk and chair, a mirror, a wastebasket, and a wardrobe or closet space. You should never put your baby to bed with a bottle (unless it's water) since the sugar in formula or juice will pool around the teeth. A severe condition known as bottle tooth decay may occur. It's also best not to let your toddler walk around with a bottle during the day. What's important is to minimize the amount of time the bottle is in the mouth.

Yes! We encourage you to keep the baby in the room with you as much as possible. This allows you to bond with your baby and to learn to care for him or her with the assistance of the nurses. Remember, the safety of your baby is always important. If you are too tired to keep an eye on your baby and no one else is staying in the hospital with you, you may request that your baby be taken to the nursery for a period of time.

Measuring A Room SpaceBefore buying a new bed, determine if your bed's frame will be appropriate for your new bed. After finding out about the frame, use a measuring tape to measure the length and width of the area in which the new bed will be installed. If you are using the old mattress frame, also measure the depth of the area as well, just in case the new bed is too high for the headboard.
