Permanent residence means you are allowed to live in South Africa indefinitely, with unlimited right to work, engage in business, own property, study and do any of the things a citizen can do except cast a vote in an election. This can only happen once you have naturalised as a South African citizen. Spending too long outside the country can result in loss of permanent residence.

Our advise is limited to immigration procedure. In this regard, the Immigration Act 13 of 200 does not place any restrictions on clients who wish to purchase property in South Africa. The Immigration Act does however regulate foreigner's admission, residence in and departure from the Republic. No, it just takes time. Upon arrival, after passing through passport control, you will pick up your checked baggage. Proceed to your airline's help desk in the luggage area and tell them you have a firearm as checked baggage. They will assist you in getting your rifle.
