Be sure the groove (the "chime") into which the lip of the lid fits, is thoroughly cleaned of residual paint. Press the lid tightly; once secure invert the can for a few seconds to form an airtight seal. If it is not airtight there will be gaps, through which air will enter causing the paint to "skin over" in storage. Paints are affected by extremes in temperature.

Once opened, Gatorade should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 3-5 days after opening.

I can never finish a bottle of wine the same day it's opened. How long can a bottle sit corked and still be good to drink?  I'm afraid to try the wine that has been sitting there a couple weeks. Unopened fuel which is stored out of direct sunlight is literally good for years. We have opened 10-year old containers and had the fuel be fully potent and usable. However, in general it is a good idea to use the fuel off your shelves annually, especially if exposed to sunlight. Once fuel has been opened, it has been exposed to air which includes moisture. Both water and sunlight are your fuel's enemy, so the more frequently or the longer it is exposed the more rapidly it will deteriorate.

If reasonably well re-sealed with a T-cork (cork cap) or similar, a bottle of Jade absinthe can be stored for decades if kept in a dark, cool place (NOT a refrigerator).

Once than can is opened, the special nitrogen atmosphere is gone and the food is exposed to humidity, the foods will last as long as similar grocery store products. This means pasta and grains will last months while dairy products should be consumer more quickly. We recommend that once you have opened a can of dried apples, for example, that you use the apples up before you go and open a can of peaches.

The answer is a highly subjective, according to both the wine and the drinker. Generally, dry white wines have the shortest life once opened. I find they lose their character after even one or two days, especially cheaply-made, oaky New World whites. (Whites with good acidity and lots of character from Burgundy are an exception.) For reds, I think that most start to slip after two days, though again it depends on how well the wine was made. There are always exceptions.

Once opened it is recommended that a product should be used within six months. Remember always to store your products away from heat.

Wine evolves once the bottle is opened and has a finite lifespan. It is the gradual exposure to oxygen that ages a wine. Once you open the wine, you are accelerating this procedure. The higher the alcohol, the more robust the wine. Most half-full bottles of wines and champagnes will oxidise overnight. Use a vacuvin to remove the air from the bottle. Fortified wines have been stabilised with the addition of spirit, so there is a little more leeway.

Fruit spreads will usually last one month in the fridge. They are not as long-lasting as regular jam because of their lower sugar content.
