All balloons are shipped flat, without air or helium. Balloon weights and ribbons are sold separately.

When filled with helium, a latex balloon will usually last twelve hours and then start to deflate. A microfoil balloon will usually last 4 to 5 days before it starts to deflate - very slowly.

As a rule of thumb, 1 cubic meter of hydrogen lifts 1.1 kilogram, 1 m3 of helium lifts 1 kg and 1 m3 of hot air lifts 300 grams. (In Anglo-American measures: 1000 cu. ft. of hot air lift a maximum of 20 lbs. and 1000 cu ft. of helium lift about 60 lb.) These figures are on the safe side and allow for variations in altitude, temperature, humidity and also purity of the helium.

Air filled latex balloons do not tend to deflate as the particles in air are larger than those in helium, there for last longer inside the balloon. An air filled latex balloon will stay inflated for many months without deflating.

Helium balloons deflate quicker than air filled balloons because the helium particles are smaller than air particles and so escape through the balloons more easily

It depends on a couple of things, the size of the balloons and the tank size. Temperature and tank pressures are also factors. The chart below will give you an approximate number of balloons based on these factors. The chart assumes that the tank is full and that you're not over-inflating the balloons. Note: You won't get 125 balloons if the tank is half full and the 9'' balloons you've bought are inflated to twice that size.

When filled with helium a latex (rubber) balloon will usually last about 12 hours and then start to deflate. A foil (Mylar) balloon will usually last about 2 weeks and then start to deflate.

Helium is available to buy in disposable cylinders many of which supply 9" balloons in the pack. Helium is also available to hire from your nearest party store in different sizes to suit your needs. You will need to return this when finished.

We do not have a minimum order. You may order as little or as many as you want. You may pick it up or we will send to you at a minimum charge.

Latex balloons have a limited life of about 18-24 hours for 11-12" pearlshine (metallic) balloons, so inflation should be done as close to the event time as possible. We are able to supply a product which can increase the float life of a helium inflated latex balloon.

Foil balloons will remain buoyant for about 2 weeks. They stay firm for the first 2-3 days and after may need slight re-inflation for firmness (not buoyancy), which can be done carefully with a straw and air.

Most balloons are from 60,000 cubic feet to 140,000 cubic feet. However, some are small enough to fly from a harness on your back and some are capable of flying 16 people or more. Most balloons tower from 60' to 90' tall. We have two balloons which are just right for the 2 to 4 of you. We have an AX-8 and an AX-8b (a technical term for size) which are 100,000 and 90,000 cubic feet respectively, about 70' tall, and 55' wide.

Most balloons are larger than your house. They hold from 19,000 to 211,000 cubic feet of air and loom from 50 to 90 feet.

No. The helium filled latex balloon is contained inside a sealed helium environment (the Sparklet). Helium inflated balloons in a helium environment will last as long as air filled balloons last in an air environment. Generally round latex balloons last as long as the Sparklet lasts (3 - 5 weeks). Hearts last for 3 weeks (inflate them nice and full to get a full "heart" shape). 350's last for 2 weeks and 260's last for 1 week.

Balloon Thrills is a full service event decorating company and thus we do not rent our helium tanks or sell our uninflated balloons.

Our normal season is from March to November inclusive, with morning flights taking off about one hour after sunrise, and evening flights about two hours before sunset.
