In order to keep our prices low, Heartland Mobility does not process claims through Medicare or other insurances. We will honor purchase orders from most insurance companies. If you meet the Medicare standards for coverage of mobility products we recommend you seek a local dealer who can bill your insurance company. No. Unfortunately, the excessive paperwork and phone time required for communicating with Medicare and Medicaid in order to get claims submitted and paid was such a drain on our resources that we were forced to give up these coverages. Patients with Medicare and Medicaid may sign a private contract with the clinic and receive care, but they are responsible for paying for services themselves.

Medicaid and Medicare usually only covers psychiatrist fees and medication costs. In some cases we are also able to bill for psychotherapy and for addictions counseling.

Medicaid provides health insurance for low income Coloradoans who meet state and federal eligibility requirements. Medicaid can assist families with children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities when eligibility requirements are met. Persons who are not United States citizens are not eligible for Medicaid except in a life threatening medical emergency. Other state medical programs may be available to those persons who do not meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.

Yes, we take all government insurance products. At this point, however, we can not operate on Medicare patients; however, this DOES NOT apply to Buckeye Medicare, Care Source, or state or government Medicaid programs.

Medicaid pays the deductibles, coinsurance and premiums for Medicare Part A and B for low income persons. These individuals are called "Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries" or QMB's.

Ballert accepts both Medicare and Public Aid. Please be aware, however, that Medicare and Public Aid do not cover all orthotic and prosthetic devices. Additionally, Public Aid requires "prior approval" for many of the devices they cover (see answer to next question). If we discover non-coverage of your device when we verify your insurance coverage, we will inform you prior to providing services. Additionally, there are some items for which Ballert does not take assignment.
