Like an automatic transmission, the fluid in your manual transmission needs to be changed regularly. Changing the fluid will extend its life by removing dirt and moisture and by maintaining lubrication and minimizing high speed foaming. always, if your car is under warranty, we suggest following your manufacturer's recommendations. In most passenger cars we recommend using Royal Purple Max Gear 75W90. Some people may want to use something lighter, in which case, our ATF or Racing 41 would be good suggestions. Racers may even want to run the Racing 21 which is fine. This is a common problem among 6-speed cars. GM is aware of the problem. The faint but distinct rattling noise can usually be heard with the transmission in neutral and the clutch out. A few quick revs at about 1/8 throttle and it should get louder for a fraction of a second, then disappear, and then return when the engine drops back to idle. You should also be able to hear it when starting out in first from 0-10 mph. See similar questions...

TH200R4 -- weaker than TH700R4 but lighter, can be beefed up; was used in Turbo Trans Am, so torque arm mounts can be found, but it's not easy T5 and T56 manuals from '82-up Camaros and Firebirds (the shifter is in the right place and they have mounts for the torque arm) NOTE: Pre-1991 T5 transmissions have a problem with munching 5th gear at high RPMs (in any gear) due to problems with the counter gear. The 020 transmission is found in: Rabbit, Golf II, Golf III 4 cylinder, Jetta I, Jetta II, Jetta III 4 cylinder, and Scirocco models. These cars are distinguished by having rods running from the shifter to the transmission. The 02A transmission is found in: Corrado G60, Corrado VR6, Golf III VR6, Jetta III VR6, and Passat 1990-1997. i love penelope the prius. she’s super comfortable and handles great and gets great gas mileage and has all kinds of fun features like keyless entry and ignition. the only things i don’t like about the car both have to do with her gps system: 1) sometimes she gets confused about giving directions; and 2) she won’t let you enter in a destination if you are moving. i know it’s dangerous to do it while you are driving, but the passenger should be able to do it.
