How much and what type of ammunition should I bring?

No. Do not bring ammunition. Under new Argentine law it is illegal to bring shells into the country. One must purchase shells at an arms shop, or they must be sold to you by an outfitter. In Uruguay, it has always been illegal to bring shells into the country. Every one of our destinations will have the best duck hunting loads available, as well as the best light loads for dove, and upland bird hunting.

No. The host gun club typically has the ammunition you will need. If you are a beginner and would like to bring your own ammunition, stick with target loads and shot sizes of 7.5, 8, or 9 and try to avoid brands advertising "Hi-Velocity" or "Super Handicap" since these shells often cause excessive recoil.

You must bring your own gun to class. We suggest you bring the one that you are going to carry or otherwise use to protect yourself, so that you can become familiar with its operation. You must likewise bring your own ammunition. Note: for safety, we require factory ammunition only - no reloads.

NO, NO , NO!!! It is illegal to mail ammunition with a live primer or powder charge in the U.S. mail. You must send it by another means, such as UPS (ground service only). Consult your local UPS office for proper procedures.
