DMZ stands for Demilitarized Zone. This feature allows one IP Address to be exposed to the Internet. DMZ allows only one computer to be exposed when multiple TCP/IP ports need to be open. If you want to use DMZ, you must set computer with a static IP.

A DMZ (demilitarized zone) is a computer host or small network inserted as a "neutral zone" between a company's private network and the outside public network. It prevents outside users from getting direct access to a server that has company data.

Our security appliances include a third Ethernet port, called a DMZ port ("De-Militarized Zone"). Servers placed on the DMZ, such as Web and FTP servers, are accessible to both LAN and Internet users, but are protected against DoS attacks.

A demilitarized zone (DMZ) allows one IP address (computer) to be exposed to the Internet. Some applications require multiple TCP/IP ports to be open. It is recommended that you set your computer with a static IP if you want to use DMZ hosting.

The Internet router provides three Interface Ports to divide the enterprise's networks into internal networks, external networks, and DMZ. The internal networks use private IP addresses, which routers can't transfer. Therefore server's IP address needs to be a real IP address instead of a private one. External Internet users can't connect to any server with private IP address in the internal networks directly. DMZ employs real IP addresses.

A common approach for an attacker is to break into a host that's vulnerable to attack, and exploit trust relationships between the vulnerable host and more interesting targets. If you are running a number of services that have different levels of security, you might want to consider breaking your DMZ into several ''security zones''. This can be done by having a number of different networks within the DMZ.

Use a router that supports prioritization, such as the NetGear FVS338. You will need to configure it so that UDP port 1194 is prioritized over other incoming and outgoing traffic. This will keep internet traffic to the DMZ from interfering with your phone conversations.

Port redirection - The packet is forwarded onto a specific local PC with the specified port number. You can also translate the port to another local port. DMZ Host - This opens up a single PC completely. All incoming packets will be forwarded onto the PC in the DMZ. The only exceptions are packets received in response to outgoing requests from other local PC's or incoming packets which match rules in the other two methods.
