What does Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) mean and what are the benefits of having it?
Motorola DTR Series & FAQsFHSS means that the (digitized) voice/text message is broken down into small packets that are transmitted on different frequencies, to minimize the chance of either interference from, or eavesdropping by, other 2.4GHz users. The radios "hop" from one frequency to another following a "pseudo-random hopping sequence." The DTR Series radios "hop" between 50 frequencies, staying on each frequency for 90msecs to transmit/receive voice/text message data packets.
Is Digital Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping phone better than a Digital phone?
Welcome to www.vtech.comYes, Digital Spread Spectrum converts the analog signal into 1and 0 before transmitting and then uses multiple frequencies to send the signal and Frequency Hopping randomly changes frequencies several times per second, which helps to eliminate cross-talk and accidental eavesdropping when multiple handsets are in use, where as digital only converts the analog signal into 1and 0. As a result, you will receive better clarity, security, and effective range with DSSFH. See similar questions...
What does it mean to be “on the spectrum”?
Autism Speaks, Be Informed, What is Autism, FAQsAutism is a spectrum disorder, which means it manifests itself in many different forms. A diagnosis can range from mild to severe, and though children who have it (i.e. are on the spectrum) are likely to exhibit similar traits, they're also as individual as the colors of a rainbow, each one managing a grab bag of symptoms. While one child may rarely speak and have difficulty learning how to read and write, another can be so high-functioning he's able to attend classes in a mainstream school. See similar questions...

What are the benefits of supporting Spread Spectrum Clocking (SSC)?
Sonnet - SupportSpread Spectrum Clocking is a way to lower electromagnetic interference or EMI. This is important for storage solutions that are required to pass FCC and other agency certifications. Today, some Serial ATA disk drives implement SSC, some allow you to turn this feature on/off, and some do not implement SSC; it is anticipated that all will implement this feature in the near future. What does vibrational frequency mean?
Essential Oils from Mystic Journey OM - Frequently Asked Que...This refers to the actual rate of frequency at which a person’s electromagnetic field is vibrating. Just as radio waves have frequencies, each person emits a frequency that is unique to them and changes continually as the rate of vibration is intricately connected to our thoughts and emotions. Aroma, emotions and memory are inextricably linked and often a smell will take us back to the memory of an earlier event in our life and we can even feel the emotion that we had at that time. What does PWM frequency mean?
Castle Creations - FAQsPWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. The speed controller uses PWM to control the power going to the motor. The controller breaks the current going to the motor into separate pulses that occur about 13,000 times per second. The percentage of the pulse that is on power compared to the part of the pulse that is off power determines how much power the motor sees. An oversimplified example is that if 50% of the pulse is on and 50% is off, the motor sees 50% power. See similar questions...
What kind of response time does Spread Spectrum have?
Spektrum DSM Digital Spectrum Modulation for RC cars. Provid...Spectrum's DSM system is optimized to give the fastest possible response time of 5.6ms. No. The DSM system operates in the 2.4Ghz ISM band and is well above the range of any equipment including lap-counting systems presently in use. See similar questions...
What is a pseudoexacerbation? Does having one mean my MS is progressing?
Select a Medical Service | Multiple Sclerosis (MS) CenterA pseudoexacerbation is a temporary aggravation of MS symptoms - including muscle weakness, tingling, spasms and vision difficulties - that have previously appeared in the patient. Typically, a pseudoexacerbation lasts 24 hours or less. In the majority of MS patients, a pseudoexacerbation is triggered by a rise in body temperature, which, in turn, may be caused by fever (due to infection), the environment (e.g., sun exposure, a hot bath), or exercise (e.g., mowing the lawn). How do I use your PN sequence generator in a frequency hopping application?
PRBS Generator FAQ -- Generating Pseudorandom Binary Sequenc...The answer to this is not as straightforward as it is for direct sequence, because the data to be hopped can be modulated into the signal in any one of numerous ways. But if we ignore the data and focus on the PN sequence, the question is much easier to answer. Our generators include a parallel port that outputs all taps of the sequence-generating shift register.
