The data provided for download on this website is in a GIS-compatible format. The exact format varies and is dependent upon the original format of the source data. I use Macromedia Flash MX for all of the cartoons. If you can get your hands on it, try it out, but it tends to be expensive (I lucked out and got a copy from my dad). If you want to learn how to use it, there're a lot of great tutorials online (picking up a book is a great idea too). One good site I'd recommend is actionscripts.org. For recording voices, I use Goldwave, but only because it was a free download and I'm not yet fed up with it begging me to register.

If you only want access to the database portion of our data the shapefiles each have a .dbf file in them. This file is a dbase compliant database file. Our data may not line up with your data if it is in a different projection or at a different scale (resolution).
