Preparing and placing a crown will require two visits with Dr. Wooten. During the first, Dr. Wooten will prepare the tooth for the crown placement, find your perfect shade, and fit a temporary crown. After one to three weeks, you will return for the permanent placement of the crown.

Dr. Wooten's crowns have proven to last a very long time, sometimes over two decades. With proper home care and routine check ups, your dental crown can maintain its form and function for a very long time.

Our incredible CEREC system allows us to perform the entire crown procedure in one visit, eliminating the need for a temporary crown and second visit. However, we are available to help you if a temporary crown does come off or break.

Wait till you’re done. The substance used when taking an impression will pop your temporary off. It won’t eat your teeth. People who abuse the system might develop sensitivity to their teeth, but this will subside. Wearing it for 24 to 48 consecutive hours could cause sensitivity.

Call our office immediately so we can assist you; if it's after hours, you will be referred to the on-call doctor. Be sure to save the temporary-a "zip lock" bag works well-and try not to chew on the affected side of your mouth.

Properly cared for crowns should last for many years. Your dentist will be able to tell you how long the crown may be expected to last.

We will place a temporary crown or bridge to protect your teeth and gum tissues while a custom restoration is being created for you in a dental laboratory. In addition, this temporary will help prevent the adjacent teeth from shifting, ensuring that your final custom-crafted crown or bridge will fit. Temporary cement will be used to hold the restoration in place.

Avoiding hard or sticky foods will keep the temporary crown in place. If the temporaries do come out call our office for re-cementation or apply a small amount of denture paste to the temporary.

Minimise the use of the side of your mouth with the temporary crown. Shift the bulk of your chewing to the other side of your mouth. Avoid sticky and chewy foods (e.g. chewing gum, caramel) which have the potential of grabbing and pulling off the crown. Slide flossing material out-rather than lifting out-when cleaning your teeth. Lifting the floss, out as you normally would, might pull off the temporary crown.

If your temporary crown is loose and you are not experiencing any discomfort, there is no emergency. Just contact our office during regular business hours to schedule an appointment so we can recement. If after hours and you can temporarily recement it by placing a dab of vaseline, toothpaste or denture adhesive inside the crown and placing it back on your tooth with finger pressure.

Crown copyright work which has been published will have copyright protection for 50 years from the end of the year in which the work was published. Unpublished works have a period of protection of 125 years from the end of the year in which the work was made or until 31 December 2039 (i.e. 50 years from the year in which the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 came into force).

A child's stay in foster care may be as short as overnight or longer depending on the permanency plan for the child. The first goal considered is to reunite the family, if possible.

While laser promoters compare laser to electrology it is actually not a permanent form of hair removal. Only a few laser devices have been cleared to claim a permanent reduction in hair by the FDA. Intense Pulsed Light (IPG) though often called laser, is NOT a true laser and not approved by the FDA to claim any efficacy. Electrology is cleared for permanent removal of hair. All laser assisted hair removal is considered a temporary or long lasting method of hair removal.
