Although you have Xv support, it seems your destination colorkey (=chromakey) does not work. The output from xvinfo should have an attribute called XV_COLORKEY. If it doesn't, you will have to use the software scaling version of the frontend (--noaccel option). Do contact me, I'd like to find out how to detect/workaround these cases. If this happens once a while, no problem. If it happens while your CPU usage is 100%, use a lower quality profile.

If you access Webcam32 in Server Push mode directly (ie not referenced in a web page) the image will appear to flicker. This is a quirk of the Netscape browser which, seeing that the only content on the screen is the image, redraws the whole screen. Display flicker is usually caused by fluorescent lights. The rapid pulsing of the fluorescent lights (60 Hz in the the U.S. and Canada), which is normally unnoticeable, interacts with the rapid pulsing/scanning of the HP48 LCD display (64 Hz refresh rate), which is also normally unnoticeable. In another of a long line of Design Decisions I Regret, xv tries to do all sorts of clever things with regard to the image window's position on screen. For example, if you issue the Max Size command, xv will position the window so that the window's contents exactly fill the screen (and the titlebar, frame, etc. are off the edges). The most common cause of flickering light is major appliances on the same circuit as the lighting. Lamps flicker when the appliances start up. This is a known problem with the ATI Mach 64 video card. The problem is that this card uses address 2e8, and the fourth serial port does too. Due to a bug (feature?) in the sio(4) driver it will touch this port even if you do not have the fourth serial port, and even if you disable sio3 (the fourth port) which normally uses this address. Disable sio0, sio1, sio2 and sio3 (all of them). This way the sio driver does not get activated -> no problems. See similar questions...

Most likely, this is because you have an LCD monitor with a fixed resolution higher than the game's resolution. There may be setting on your monitor and/or video card driver to stretch the image to fill the whole screen. See similar questions...
