WHEELS & TIRES - What is the difference by "hub" and "stud" piloted wheels?

Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - FA...
Hub-piloted wheels have a center hole machined to a close tolerance and are intended to mate with a hub having a properly sized pilot diameter. The bolt holes will be bored or stamped straight through the center disc which is designed to be fastened with either flanged nuts or a clamp ring using cone nuts. Stud-piloted wheels have a center hole which provides clearance to the hub nose. The bolt holes feature a tapered seat designed for clamping with properly matched cone nuts.

WHEELS & TIRES - What tires can I use on these wheels?

Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - FA...
Wheels and tires must be matched. The wheel will have a label stating it's rim diameter, width and contour. The tire selected must be approved by the Tire and Rim Association for use on that particular size wheel. The tire capacity selected should not exceed the capacity rating of the wheel. The tire inflation pressure must not exceed the pressure rating of the wheel.

How can I remove foam tires from wheels?

HPI Racing - Frequently Asked Questions
Reusing foam tire wheels can be done if you don't mind glueing on the new foam donuts. To remove the old foams, cut the foam across the wheel and peel away the foam while using your hobby knife to help cut the foam away from the wheel. Hold the wheel securely in a vise or similar location and use a wire wheel on a drill to remove the leftover foam bits. You can also use a bench grinder with a wire wheel and carefully remove the foam from the tire. Be sure to wear eye protection while doing this!

WHEELS & TIRES - Can I change to aluminum wheels?

Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - FA...
Aluminum wheels are thicker through the mounting bolt area and may not leave enough stud length for proper nut engagement. Consult the wheel manufacturer for stud length and mounting face requirements and wheel nut torque.

What wheels will fit on my 128? What size tires?

Suspension
Most any Fiat wheel with the 4x98 bolt pattern will fit on a 128. The offset, however, might not be correct for the application, and may create wheel-rub. Lancia Beta wheels work nicely since they are 14x5.5 alloy wheels with a front-wheel-drive offset. They look great on a 128 too!

BMW M Registry - FAQ E31 850CSi
There were two different wheel and tire packages for the 850CSi. WHEELS & TIRES - Can I use wheels with greater offsets?

WHEELS & TIRES - Why do I need to re-torque my trailer wheels when I don't do that on my truck?

Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - FA...
Trailer wheels carry substantially more weight than tow vehicle wheels of the same size and see more disc flexing due to side loading stresses. It is necessary to re-torque them several times until the wheel nut torque stabilizes. This is especially true for new wheels that need to have the paint worn away at the hub mounting face and under the wheel nuts. WARNING: Be very careful to use only the recommended wheel fastening torque amount as specified for that wheel and fastener.

What is the difference between tubular and clincher wheels? Which should I get?

Endurance World: FAQ
Tubular and clincher are the types of rims that use different kinds of tires / tubes combination. Tubular rims are lighter and require the tire (a sew-up with the tube inside) to be glued to the rim. Clincher rims have a "lip" onto which the tires are attached (no glue required) to the rim. Tubular tires have the tube already inside, while clincher tires use a tube and tire that can be easily separated.

Are these the authentic "///M-Parallel" wheels or replicas? What size are the wheels and tires?

FOR SALE: 1993 BMW 740iL - Frequently Asked Questions
These are the real deal and not imitation replica wheels. Genuine BMW M-Parallel wheels cost almost $2000, but I chose not to save money by buying replicas because I wanted the forged strength and light weight of the factory M-Parallel wheels. Internet message forums are filled with many horror stories about replica M-Parallel wheels, and they have been appropriately nicknamed "butter wheels" because they are too soft and bend easily.

After I lower my car, will my tires and wheels rub on my fender?

Neuspeed Frequently Asked Questions .:.. .
Generally speaking, the factory tire and wheel combination does not rub on the fender lip even when using our NEUSPEED Race lowering springs, our most agressive kit. However, there are many different aftermarket wheel and tire combinations. If your wheel and tire combination has a more agressive offset, or is wider than your original factory specifications, you may encounter rubbing on the wheel well or fender lip. This is not the fault of the spring kit.

Jake Latham's 1997 Z51 Corvette - C5 Frequently Asked Questi...
The absolute answer to this depends a bit on your shock and spring selections, as well as how low your car is. most folks can run with Hoosier 305/30-18 on all four corners, with the car's ride heights set at around 14"/14.5" (measured from top of fender to hub center), and have no rubbing.
