Advisement is the step of the placement process that occurs between September 14th and September 18th. PULSE students sign up for advisement on the PULSE office door. At this time, each PULSE student individually meets with 2 PULSE Council Members to discuss the various options that student would like to pursue for their placement. PULSE Council Members will guide the PULSE students and answer any questions that they might have at that time.

Students may be advised at either campus, University Park or Biscayne Bay. Advising hours vary at the two campuses, so students should contact the office of their choice directly to inquiry about office hours.

Marist's advisement model is both developmental and intrusive. Toward that end, advisors recognize that students have varying wants, needs and interests at different points in their academic careers, and the guidance and information that a regular advisement process provides can help students transition from one milestone to the next. Students are required to consult with their academic advisors during registration periods to discuss course selection.

There are rules that apply to TRS students only. The Advisement Center has such a large number of programs to know about that it is difficult for them to know all the special TRS rules also. Therefore we recommend coming to a TRS instructor or a Student Support Services Advisor for advisement.

Pre-advisement gives the student the opportunity to avoid long lines during heavy registration, by taking time to speak with an advisor about courses, degree plans and transferring. Be ready to fill out your registration form, with course information, so that your registration day goes smoothly. No appointment is necessary; drop-in students are always welcomed.

Bypass / Angioplasty are temporary solutions to increase the blood flow to the heart. They do not stop the disease process nor do they go to the root cause of disease. In bypass alternate passage is created as shown the blockages remains. After few years reblockages is quite common. In angioplasty the blockage is scrapped and stent is inserted so it is merely reduced in size. Hence with few months to 2-3 years problem occurs.

Yes. The Center for General Studies has mandatory advisement; therefore, you must meet with your advisor before you are allowed to register. An advisement hold is placed on your records to ensure that you receive advisement. During your advisement session, your advisor will remove the hold and then you will be able to register for classes.
