Latex is a milky white liquid composed of rubber particles dispersed in water. This material is whipped with air to form a foam, which is cured to make our mattresses.

A vacuum is placed on the mold, which removes air bubbles/pockets and distributes the liquid rubber evenly through the mold. Heat sent through the rods, providing even temperature and yielding a consistent latex cores without air pockets or uneven firmnesses. Dunlop Latex uses the continuous Dunlop process. This latex does not have the consistant or supple characteristics of Talalay, and because it does not require the extensive processing of Talalay, it can be produced much cheaper. N Is a firm edge better? No. You want edge-to-edge comfort. Many companies try to save money by eliminating latex from their "latex bed". A 4 inch "firm" edge of polyurethane foam will save 20% in latex costs.

The only supports that do not have Latex are Compro AB, MalleoLoc and EpiPoint. ViscoSpot, ViscoHeel N, ViscoHeel K, ViscoPed S, and ViscoPed also do not have Latex. All of the others have Natural Rubber Latex. They are a medical product with proven effectiveness and durability; therefore, they are an excellent value. They also provide measurable compression to decrease pain and swelling.

People that are allergic to latex are allergic to the protein enzymes in natural latex. Latex that is used on today’s carpet is a synthetic latex that doesn’t have these protein enzymes. Request that the adhesive being used be tested and comply with the CRI IAQ testing program, meaning that the adhesive has the lowest possible emissions. Ventilation and good air exchange for approximately 48 to 72 hours should alleviate most odors.

Although The Keeper is made from natural gum rubber (versus a synthetic polymer), it is still made of rubber, which is also called latex. To be conservative, don't use it if you are allergic to rubber or latex, or think you might be. The Keeper Mooncup is also a reusable menstrual cup we highly recommend.

Unlike some competing products, our product contains no fillers or extenders. We only add the components needed to convert the material from a liquid to a solid that lasts. We add soap, ammonia, zinc oxide and sulfur. The ammonia evaporates and the soap and zinc oxide are washed out. It was used in bedding and autos until the introduction of urethane. The large manufacturers of latex were primarily interested in automotive foam, and as urethane replaced latex in car seats, they dropped out of the market. Latex is heavier than urethane, and costs more to produce. In car seats, the extra weight becomes a problem for those worried about gas mileage. (Cheaper also made detroit happy;)

DUI seals are manufactured from premium, ultra-pure latex. One of the major enemies of latex is ozone. Many people store their drysuits in areas where ozone is prevalent, such as garages and basements. It is important to try to minimize contact with ozone by storing your drysuit in an airtight bag if it will not be used for a little while. If you have ZipSeals, you can take the seals off for convenient storage in a Ziploc bag or other airtight container.

They have a less objectionable odor, which makes them good for repaints and painting in occupied areas, where solvent odor is an issue. They clean up with soap and water; there's no need to work with hazardous and/or flammable solvents, and no used solvent to dispose of afterwards. Latex paints dry faster, and can be recoated sooner; this makes them a good choice for painting in occupied areas, where someone might touch or brush up against the freshly painted surface.
