Latex caps are very inexpensive. They do not last very long. They can pull on hair or be uncomfortable. Silicone caps are more expensive but last longer and may be more comfortable. Both latex and silicone caps will keep the hair relatively dry. They may help keep goggle straps from slipping. Lycra caps are the most comfortable and do not pull hair. They come in many colors and patterns. Lycra caps are not waterproof and only serve to keep longer hair from swishing around.

All fabrics of Instride riding apparel contain at least 10% Lycra, with four way stretch. This insures a comfortable fit without binding, yet maintains its shape wearing after wearing. All fabrics, & the solid color ultrasuede?, may be machine washed in cool water, and placed in a cool dryer. For BEST results, turn the clothing item "inside out" before washing and drying. Wash like colors together and NEVER use bleach directly on the fabric.

Lycra (Spandex) is softer and has greater stretch capability allowing for more flexibility. Its fabric has a rubberized elastic material. This is especially important for Synchro Swimmers. However due to the rubberized elastic material Lycra tends to breakdown earlier than Polyester because the chlorine attacks the rubberized elastic material in the fabric.

I prefer handwash or automatic washer with "delicate" program: warm water (near 40c) and some neutral detergent with NO chlorine or bleach, like ones used for kids' clothes.
