This is caused by the underlying metal lining of the crown which makes the tooth look artificial and fake. Contemporary cosmetic dentistry affords us to completely avoid this unsightly problem. When it is absolutely unavoidable to use crowns we prefer to use all porcelain crowns. The strength of this crown is similar to the metal lined porcelain crowns and some even suppress that. All porcelain crowns allow light to pass through just like the enamel on teeth does.

There are several possibilities for this. One, the photo may have a low dpi. The minimum recommended dpi is 150. Perhaps the actual size of the photo may be too small. A - Often times this is due to the shadow created by the metal at the margin of a porcelain crown. The metal is often used for strength and reinforcement for the overlying porcelain. I find that a heavy black line can be cartoonish. When I outline I like to give the impression of an outline rather than a strong black Iine . I would suggest skipping more holes and using a narrower cut for the outline. You can also use a colour softer than black, suck as brown, navy, or dark grey.
