You can tell the list server to start or stop sending you copies of messages you send to the list. New subscribers default to receiving copies of their own messages. People who subscribed before about 1998 did not default to receiving copies of their own messages to the list. To start receiving copies of your messages Send the text "set nausicaa repro" in the body of an e-mail to the address listserv@listserv.brown.edu.

Before sending your message, please be sure that it abides by the list's rules and policies. Otherwise, if you are not sure, then please consult a list owner to find out if your message is appropriate for the list. "I would like to send a new message to the list." Send it to the e-mail address nausicaa@listserv.brown.edu. "I would like to reply to a message I've received from the list." Use your e-mail software's reply feature.

To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list, just send mail to: epd@yahoogroups.com This is called "sending mail to the list", because you send mail to a single address and LISTSERV makes copies for all the people who have subscribed. This address (epd@egroups.com) is also called the "list address". You must never try to send any list command to that address, as it would be distributed to all the people who have subscribed.

In the list menu bar, click on SEND EMAIL. This will cause the email software associated with your browser to generate a new email message, pre-addressed to the list. Type in a Subject, then type your message, then click on SEND like you normally would with other email. People who are subscribed to this list are primarily interested in DX'ing and DX related subjects. Almost anything DX/ham radio related is acceptable to the users on this list. i) The users are checking their mail too often. Some users will set their mail client to check their mail every minute. This causes problems when the next check begins before the last one has ended. The index file will no longer be synchronized with the mailbox file.
