In their natural setting, horses will naturally bite and kick as a means of establishing dominance within their herd. When a Guide Horse bonds with the owner after training, the owner will be perceived as the herd leader, and the horse will never bite or kick except when attacked. An aggressive horse would not remain in the Guide Horse program.

They generally do not bite or kick like a horse. A human isn't in danger of being kicked or bitten by a properly socialized and desensitized animal. They will kick at a fly or something around their back feet, but because the foot is soft it's not as dangerous as a horse's kick. That's not to say they don't pack a wallop if they want to, but kicks are typically at the air as a warning to back away, rather than directed at you with intention of making contact.

When interacting with humans, kicking and biting is highly individualistic. Alpacas are usually sensitive around the hind legs and will instinctively kick backwards if they sense a threat from the rear. Most alpacas do not kick at humans, but there are individuals that can be quickly identified as being prone to kicking. This is more evident in a pregnant female that wants to deter the advances of an amorous male. Fortunately, because the foot is a soft pad, injuries to humans are minimal.

Only frightened or mistreated camels kick or 'spit' and it is very very rare for any camel to actually bite. Bull camels can be dangerous when mating but with proper handling and understanding these camels are harmless too. Explore the Outback uses gelded males and cow camels only in the safari operations and these animals are treated with respect and affection.

It depends. If you are very cautious and careful in getting the horses used to each other, if the horses have enough space to sidestep each other and the big horses show no signs of aggression against the little ones, it may be possible to keep miniature horses with big horses. However, I discourage to do so because in a herd, there will always be little fights. That is natural and not to worry, but even a rather playful kick of a large horse could cause serious injuries to a miniature horse.

Since tb's are biters--or can be--do they get their teeth filed? What kind of dental care do horses get? Do horses have babyteeth that fall out? Are they born with teeth? You can tell I've never seen a foal close up.

When talking about Shetland Ponies, one must be aware of the fact that the breed referred to as "Shetland Pony" in Europe differs considerably from what is referred to as a "Shetland Pony" in America. The Miniature Shetland Pony we know in Europe is about the same size as the American Miniature Horse.

opposed to American Miniature Horse, Falabellas come from South America. Both breeds are about the same size. The main goal in breeding an American Miniature Horse is obtaining an correct equine with the proportions of its big counterpart. The AMHA Standard of Perfection specifically declares the small size subordinate to the correctness and balance. In Falabellas, "small" often seems to be all that matters.

If you live within Europe, chances are that there is no club for American Miniature Horses only in your country. In France, there is the Miniature Horse Club France, based in Hénin-Beaumont, its website can be found >>here<<. Apart from that, there are three European clubs: EMHA, MHCE and ICAMH. However, since interest in American Miniature Horses is growing at an enormous pace, other clubs may be founded soon.

Giant African Land Snails do not have teeth. Instead, they have a rough tongue called a radula, which has special ridges on it so the snails rasp their food rather than chewing or biting it. You can feel a snail rasping you. It is slightly rough, tickly sensation, not unlike the feeling of a cat licking you. It can't do you any harm. Some species (possibly Achatina iredalei) have sharper radulas than others. Snails seem to rasp most surfaces they come across. This appears to see what is edible.

The AMHR recently adopted a standard of perfection, which is similar to the well-known AMHA standard of perfection. The standard of perfection of the German studbook for American Miniature Horses will be as close to AMHA standards as possible in its context. According to AMHA standards, an American Miniature Horse has to be small, but correct and balanced. It has to be well proportioned and a scaled-down version of a large horse. All coat colors and eye colors are allowed.

Since the horses' teeth erupt and wear down continually during their lives, cavities are not a common problem. Problems that are more common in horses include broken teeth and infected tooth roots. When vets and equine dentists talk about "points", they are generally talking about the sharp edges on the outer surfaces of the upper cheek teeth and on the inner edges of the lower cheek teeth.
