Using the syringe supplied in your refill kit, inject air into the top air vent to clean the nozzles. A small amount of ink should be emitted from the nozzle upon injection. If this procedure is ineffective, fill a small dish with warm water and soak the nozzles for approximately 1 hour. There is a shipping seal in most new cartridges which must be removed in order for the cartridge to function properly. Follow your printer's instructions for installing a new cartridge. When your printer displays the ‘TONER LOW’ message, we advise that you do not use the cartridge to print any more checks because the printed MICR characters may not contain enough magnetic ink to be properly recognized by the bank's reader/sorter equipment. Have you ever put a "new" cartridge in the machine and the low toner light goes on. You may have mistakenly put an empty cartridge in the machine. If you have already removed the yellow tag, the problem might be that the presence of air bubbles around the print head while changing cartridges blocks inkjets. Poor color or white lines on printouts could be for the same reason. You may either proceed with the "Cleaning Print Head" function in your printer for a couple of times to remove air bubbles, or, leave your cartridge inside the printer for an hour or so to let the bubbles rise to the top. After you install a new filter (this is the case with any/all brands of filter cartridges) you should run it for a few minutes. Generally cloudy or white water indicates air in the line. This is natural and normal with the replacement of a cartridge. Air will enter in the housing, lines and cartridge. Just run the water for a few minutes and the cloudy conditions will go away (unless you have very cold water in which case it is the oxygen in the water that could be making the water look cloudy).
