If you registered for the Half Marathon and want to drop down to the 10K or 5K, you must contact us by March 15 to do so. We will transfer your entry to the other race, but we cannot refund the difference in entry fee. NO RACE DAY CHANGES!

If you didn't register in time, we hope you register for another one of our races (Deena Kastor 5K/Old Agoura 10K/Do the Double 15K) or join us next year.

Globacom has established a bus service for the various designatted to the Half Marathon start utilising the BRT facilities.

The races are of standard (and traditional) distances as recognised by the appropriate governing bodies. The half marathon measures 21.1 km (13 miles 192 yards) - whilst the full marathon length is 42.2 km (26 miles 385 yards).

There's a course elevation chart on our course maps page. The maximum elevation is only 74 feet and there aren't any big hills, but there are lots of small, rolling hills throughout the course, so make sure you do regular training runs on hilly courses, if possible.

You can complete a transfer at the Help Desk any time up to 7:00pm Saturday 27 October 2007. The cost is $20 including GST for the transfer.

The first 13km is undulating (not too steep),. The Auckland Harbour Bridge is a very sharp climb of approximately 1km with the balance of the course being flat (see Course Information & Maps).

Yes, walkers start with the runners at 7:00am. No 'early bird start'. The course will remain open until 11:00am, allowing for a 4-hour half marathon. After this time course support will be limited, and participants assume the role of pedestrians.

The races almost always take place in September of each year, often on the second weekend in the month, but are always held on a Sunday. The Full Marathon starts at 09.30am followed by the Half Marathon at 10.00am. Please note that these times are earlier than in previous years to avoid problems with road traffic.

Yes, upon payment of a $20 transfer fee. You can transfer any time up to 7:00pm Saturday 27 October 2007. The difference in entry fee will not be refunded for those changing from the Marathon to the Half Marathon. The difference in entry fee will be payable by those changing from the Half Marathon to the Marathon. There are no transfers to or from the 5km Walk or Quarter Marathon events.

The recommended way is to park on the Auckland City side, purchase a $6.00 one-way ferry ticket and catch the ferry to the start line. Ferry tickets are best to be purchased online when you are entering or on the paper entry form when entering. Please Note: Due to these Ferry sailings being a chartered service and the need to ensure boarding is as efficient as possible, a different ticket system is being used for these sailings.

Yes, registered runners may switch events at any time before the race. There is no partial refund for those who switch from the marathon to the half marathon, and those who switch from the half marathon to the marathon will be asked to pay an additional $15 to account for the difference between the two entry fees. If you wish to switch events, please e-mail race co-director Bob Aube or notify the registration coordinator at packet pickup.

British athletic ruels allow to run the marathon from 18 years on. However, there is a mini marathon event for school children on marathon day, for a distance of 5K along the final stage of the official marathon route with finish on the Mall. Entries are possible only via your school or the local borough.
