Due to differing time-zones from which participants will be working and the online nature of the activity, there are no official participation times throughout the project. However, it is expected that students will be able to spend at least 10 hours per week contributing to the project. As this is an online project, regular participation throughout each week is crucial for successful group dynamics. To visit the community only once or twice a week is not enough.

We are targeting pharmacy students for the first stages of this project, so the only prerequisite is that you are enrolled in a pharmacy course/degree. The second stage of this project targets graphic design students. Any student enrolled in a design school or university studying within areas of Visual Communication such as Graphic Design, Digital Media/Arts, Photomedia, Illustration, etc.

Discuss this with your mentor. Typically, for every one unit of an independent research course you are enrolled in, you would be expected to spend about three to four hours a week. Once you commit to a project, make sure you give it the time it deserves.

Students may work a maximum of 30 hours per week while school is in session (40 hours/week during break periods). However, on average, students work approximately 10-15 hours per week.

All project teams have required meetings as outlined in the course syllabus. Team members will determine locations and times for their meetings. Many project teams have chosen to meet as often as weekly because they find the time shared as a group is more efficient and motivational.

Our impression is that a student spends from 10 to 20 hours per week. If of concern, you may wish to ask the student you are talking with if the University has an hourly commitment they are expected to make.

The average SURE student works from 9.00am to 5.00pm each weekday on their research project. Students will also be asked to attend a weekly seminar, presentation or training session for one to two hours per week.

Wind is the most common cause of surface waves. The longer the distance a wind blows, the stronger it is, and the bigger the waves. As wind blows over the ocean, it tries to pick up some of the water. Because the surface of the water can not move, it rises. Gravity pulls the wave back down into the ocean. The full-time IELC program is 23 hours per week. Students with F-1 student visas must attend the program full-time in order to maintain immigration status.

This is a good question and the answer depends on many factors including the type of service you want to receive. A young child requiring early intervention will likely require more support than an older child working on just one or two target behaviours. For our early intervention service using the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS), we recommend a minimum of 10 consultation hours per month.

The courses are structured to provide 48 credit hours. If the course is offered over a 12 week semester, this means you will need to spend about 4 hours per week on the course. Since the courses are offered asynchronously (not live time) you can “fit” your participation into your schedule.

Project week is a ten-day break that you get in each of the first and the second terms of the School year, where you get an opportunity to travel around India and take part in Community Interaction (CI).
