Erythema migrans (Geographic Tongue) is a common inflammatory condition that affects the top and sides of the tongue. It presents as small, randomly arranged red patches on the tongue. One to two percent of the population exhibits this problem. The condition occurs at all ages, and women are affected almost twice as often as men. The cause of this condition is unknown, although family history or association with stress my increase onset or prolong duration.

A tongue scraper has two rows of plastic serrated scrapers on one side and two rows of bristles on the other. The scrapers gently clean the tongue, while the bristles reach into the tiny grooves on the surface to dislodge bacteria and debris.
