The Lanchester Landfill (located in Honey Brook) is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until noon and from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A passenger vehicle may dump trash for a fee. If brought to the landfill in an open truck, the bags should be covered. The landfill accepts recyclables, oil filters and household batteries at no cost. Recyclables include newspapers, cardboard, #1 & 2 plastics, bi-metal cans, aluminum cans and clear glass.

Bulk pick-ups are performed by the Huntersville Public Works Department and costs $15. Especially large loads may be charged an additional fee.
