We allow uploads without speed restrictions. In fact, some of our users can upload files at over 400 Kilobytes a second! However, if you are connected with a typical broadband connection you should get around 20 KB per second for send/upload speed. This is because broadband providers set a much lower rate for upload speeds than download speeds. This will depend on your broadband connection and is in no way related to sendspace or our servers.

Depending on your connectivity to our server network, your upload speed may be limited and slower than what you expect.

Our network-connections are far from being full. We always buy more bandwidth than we really need in order to avoid bottle-necks. Neither uploading nor downloading is limited! If you still have a slow upload-speed, try choosing a different network-path for uploading your files.

The DOT looks at several criteria in setting speed limits. These include roadway alignment, sight distance, 85th percentile speed (a weighted average speed), crash history, and development. For any sign to be effective, it must command the respect of road users. This means speed limits must be reasonable and enforced. We also have intelligent software that move files around in order to make sure that the system load is spread evenly across all of our servers. The only way we can guarantee blazing fast speeds is when you upgrade to a Premium Membership. There is a problem (which we are working to fix) that results in a crash at the end of a render when the 'Artmatic Sound' option is active when rendering. Any good BitTorrent client should have the ability to throttle upload speeds. If you set the upload speed to just below your maximum upload speed, download speeds should improve.

Speed limits vary by type of roadway and by the characteristics of the road. Generally speaking, the rural interstate speed limit is 75 mph (miles per hour) while the limit near or in urban areas is 65 mph or less. Each driver is responsible for knowing the speed limit on the road he or she is traveling. Four lane divided roads generally have a 65 mph limit. Two lane highways have varying speed limits. Again, drivers are responsible for knowing the limits on the roads they drive.

If no signs are posted, the General Statutes of North Carolina set all speed limits outside of municipalities at 55 m.p.h. and municipal limits at 35 m.p.h. These can be changed by ordinances enacted by the NCDOT. Changes, either higher or lower, inside city limits, require the agreement of the municipality and the NCDOT. If signs are not posted in areas outside municipalities, the speed limit is officially 55 m.p.h.

Contact our Traffic Engineering staff and request a speed zone study. Changing development often affects operating speed conditions, and may warrant changes in the speed limit by the NCDOT. We do not normally lower speed limits on dead end roads less than a mile long.

In court, don't complain that you were being victimized; the judge does not want to nor have time to listen to a claim that is nearly impossible to prove.
