Roommate assignment information is sent out in early August. We realize that some schools send out assignment information much earlier, but at this time, we are operationally unable to do this. However, you will have plenty of time to be in touch with your new roommates before school begins. Just a reminder- We will not make any changes in regard to roommates once assignments are sent out until at least two weeks after the school year begins, and this is only space permitting.

Each year we send the housing assignment letters no later than July 1st to new students who are deposited with the University as of May 1st of that year.

Assignments for new students can be checked by going online and logging in to their PAWS account. Start at www.lsu.edu/housing, select "Incoming Students", click "Room Assignment/Roomate Status", log in to PAWS and click "View Housing Status".

No. Because the summer is extremely busy and all the houses are not empty during the summer, it is impossible for us to show houses and rooms.

Answer: You must have submitted a completed on-campus living application packet. Bed assignments are subject to the following: April 1 – Best opportunity to receive housing and a bed assignment in early June. See Waiting List section for additional information. Please refer to the measurement details for the sofa of your choice. You may like to lay a tape line on the floor of your room, outlining the new sofa size to give you more perspective as to its size. Don't forget to check your doorways and access angles to your room as well to ensure access.

You are normally sent an email from the company providing the work when there is a suitable assignment for you. Sometimes, they may get in touch by phone, however, you can normally specify how you would like to be contacted.

That's a really good question. Room size and average listening levels are ultimately tied together. A "headbanger" in a small to medium room may be less satisfied with the listening levels acheived than a chamber music listener in a very large room. And then there's home theater volume levels. The moral of the story is that you have to experiment with volume levels the subwoofer is capable and operate within it's limits.

You will receive your room assignment at move in. The Privacy of Information Act does not allow us to give you your roommate's name. While we attempt to match roommates by similar characteristics, it is the responsibility of roommates to achieve an acceptable living relationship through communication and negotiation.
