Animal Care - Frequently Asked Questions
The County provides traps for citizens to catch stray dogs or cats. Due to the high demand for traps, it may be ten days or more before a trap is delivered. Animal Care will set a trap for wild animals such as raccoons, opossums, and squirrels if the wild animal is damaging your property or is a threat to humans. Only the use of humane traps is permitted.

Will you come and trap the stray cats around my house?

Spring Farm CARES
We do not have the staff to do that. We do, though, lend out Hav-A-Hart traps (security deposit required) so that you can trap them yourselves. This would be done in conjunction with our spay/neuter office, (315) 737-8035, and we would then get the cat or cats spay/neutered for you so that they would not continue to have kittens under your front porch.
