You can either send in or bring to the office a copy of your handicap placard (both front and back), the handicap placard registration and your driver's license or I.D. card. The citation will be administratively excused if valid at the time of citation issuance. If you do not have a handicap placard, you will either have to pay the citation or request a court date to appear before a judge.

If you get a parking citation you have three options. You MUST do one of the following three within 21 days of receiving the citation: Contest the citation if you believe it was issued in error. Handicapped Parking Permits are issued through the Town Clerk's Office for residents of West Seneca only. Residents with a disability who require special parking considerations must obtain the Application for License Plates or Parking Permits for People with Severe Disabilities (Form MV-664). These applications may be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office, your doctor's office, any Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) office, or on-line.

Those interested in getting a handicapped parking permit and sign must receive an application from the Bureau of Traffic and Transportation at City Hall, Room 100, 319 East State Street, Trenton, NJ 08608. If you are in possession of a handicapped parking permit, you may obtain a temporary permit for use in Florida during your stay. Permits are issued by the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles from their Motor Vehicle Services offices. Each campus regulates the parking in its lots. Some campuses want to enforce this regulation in order to insure that students on their home campuses have adequate parking.

Once a citation is written it is forwarded to Crawford County Municipal Court the next business day. You can either pay the waiver amount on the back of the citation, or if you wish to contest the citation you will need to appear in court on the time and date listed on the bottom of the citation.Back to top of page

Verify that you are entering the correct information and that the citation was issued in Miami-Dade County. Be aware that although the ticket may not be entered in our system, citations must be satisfied within 30 days to avoid penalties.

Please call the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting at 574.245.6001. You will need to provide an application along with your handicapped license plate information and a letter from your doctor stating your disability. The Traffic & Lighting Manager will review your application and make a recommendation to the Board of Public Works. The Board will notify you of their decision by mail.
